The holidays are here and in between buying gifts for everyone else on your list, think about what you-the-writer would love to find under the tree.
For some of you, the gift might be a tangible item: a pen that lights and writes upside down (for those late-night jottings when you're tucked in your bed), an unlimited supply of printer paper (for those hard-copy submissions) or a year's subscription to a writing magazine.
Or your desire might be more along the intangible line: one free hour each day just to write, a standing appointment with your own personal Muse or just a shot of confidence that pushes you from being an "almost writer" to a "writer"!
My perfect writing gift (which I have yet to receive!) would be a week at a writer's retreat, doing nothing but writing fiction. (Maybe in 2008...)
What do you want this holiday season? What gift would most help you in your writing career? Take a few moments and tell the rest of us what you want Santa to bring you.
Happy holidays!
